An alarming traffic accident occurred in Kinmen, Taiwan, on the evening of December 12th, around 5:45 PM. A motorcyclist traveling on Boyu Road towards Qionglin collided with a pedestrian crossing the street at a pedestrian crossing. The impact was significant, causing both individuals to fall to the ground.

The pedestrian sustained serious injuries, including head trauma and fractures to their left chest and leg. They remain unconscious and are currently receiving medical treatment. The motorcyclist suffered multiple abrasions and contusions on their left side.

Both individuals were rushed to Kinmen Hospital for immediate medical attention. The pedestrian has since been transferred for further care.

Police conducted a sobriety test on the motorcyclist, which came back negative, indicating no alcohol involvement. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the accident. Preliminary assessments suggest that the motorcyclist may have been traveling at an unsafe speed or failed to yield to the pedestrian.

The accident occurred near a busy Carrefour supermarket, a location known for its heavy traffic and previous incidents. This area is considered a high-risk zone, and residents are urging authorities to address the situation by improving traffic flow and enhancing safety measures to prevent future tragedies.
