Motorcycle Collision in Tainan: Two Injured in "Ghost Cut" Incident

A collision at an intersection in Yongkang District leaves two motorcycle riders with injuries, prompting a police investigation into the cause.

A motorcycle accident occurred in Yongkang District, Tainan on the evening of May 11th. Two motorcycles collided at the intersection of Kunda Road and Dawan Road, resulting in injuries for both riders. Fortunately, their consciousness was clear, and they were transported to the hospital for treatment. The Yongkang Police Department is currently investigating to determine the cause and responsibility for the accident.

According to Deputy Chief Hsieh Kuei-lin of the Yongkang Police Department, the incident took place around 10 PM on May 11th. Preliminary investigations suggest that a 66-year-old motorcycle rider, identified as Mr. Tseng, was making a left turn when the collision happened with a motorcycle driven by a 17-year-old, Mr. Yang, who was traveling straight in the same direction. The impact caused the motorcycles to crash, throwing the riders to the ground, and causing them to suffer injuries. The detailed responsibility for the accident is still under investigation.

The police stated that according to Article 48, Paragraph 1, Clause 2 of the Road Traffic Management and Penalty Regulations, drivers who do not follow traffic signal indications when turning are subject to fines ranging from NT$600 to NT$1,800. The police urge the public to slow down and turn according to regulations when approaching intersections to prevent accidents and ensure road safety.
