In the early hours of January 25th, a 24-year-old female motorcyclist in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, was injured after attempting to evade a police check. The incident, involving a chase and a subsequent collision, has prompted an investigation by local authorities.

According to the Zuoying Precinct Traffic Division, officers on patrol observed the motorcyclist running two red lights at the intersection of Weijiu Road and Weiliu Road. Upon attempting to stop the rider, using both lights and sirens, the individual refused to stop. Instead, the rider reportedly engaged in dangerous maneuvers, including driving in an inner lane, running red lights, and erratic swerving.

The chase concluded in the Nanzih District, when the motorcyclist collided with an object, resulting in multiple abrasions and suspected internal injuries, including fractures. Emergency services were immediately contacted, and the rider was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Police have stated that the patrol vehicle maintained a safe distance throughout the pursuit.

The Zuoying Precinct has confirmed that they are in contact with the rider's family and are coordinating with the hospital to ensure the best possible care. The investigation is underway, with authorities reviewing dashcam footage and surveillance video to fully understand the circumstances of the incident and determine responsibility.
