Power Outage in Changhua County, Taiwan: Thousands Affected by Electrical Fault

Last night in Changhua County, Taiwan, a power outage plunged a significant portion of Shengang Township into darkness. The incident, which occurred shortly after 8 PM, was attributed to a snake that inadvertently came into contact with electrical equipment, triggering a fault in the power supply.

The outage affected approximately 5,730 households in the vicinity of Zhonghua Road and Jianxing Road. Reports indicated that the lack of power also caused traffic signals to fail, adding to concerns about road safety due to the resulting lack of visibility.

Taipower, the state-owned utility company, promptly responded to the incident and worked diligently to restore power. By 9:33 PM, all affected households had their electricity back.
