Taiwan: Off-Duty Police Officer Injured in Hualien Traffic Accident

A 29-year-old police officer on motorcycle sustained a leg fracture in a collision with an ambulance in Hualien County.

A traffic accident occurred on Taiwan's Provincial Highway 9 in Fenglin Township, Hualien County, on the 23rd of [Month, Year]. The incident involved a 29-year-old off-duty police officer, identified as Mr. Lin, who was riding a motorcycle, and an ambulance.

According to the police report, the accident took place at an intersection. Mr. Lin was traveling eastbound on Pingdeng Road under a green light. Simultaneously, a 51-year-old individual, Mr. Zhou, was driving the ambulance northbound on Provincial Highway 9 under a red light. Mr. Zhou claims he had activated the siren.

The two vehicles collided at the intersection. Mr. Lin sustained a fractured left leg. He was conscious and in stable condition, with no life-threatening injuries.
