On the evening of October 12th, the Banqiao Precinct of the New Taipei City Police Department initiated a pursuit of a suspicious vehicle at the intersection of Guoging Road and Wuquan Road. Upon attempting to conduct a routine stop, the driver of the vehicle refused to cooperate and instead accelerated, colliding with a police officer who sustained injuries.

After a ten-minute chase, law enforcement successfully intercepted the vehicle in Tucheng District, apprehending three suspects. A search of the vehicle yielded a variety of illegal substances, including Etomidate, amphetamines, and heroin. Notably, one of the individuals, a man identified as Mr. Huang, was discovered to be a repeat offender with eleven outstanding arrest warrants.

The incident began around 8 PM when Banqiao police officers, on patrol, identified the suspicious vehicle. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver chose to flee, endangering the public and injuring a police officer. The ensuing pursuit saw the vehicle speeding through the city, running red lights, and creating a hazardous situation. The chase ended in Tucheng District where the Lexus was eventually stopped.

Following the arrests, authorities discovered that Mr. Huang was wanted on numerous charges, including fraud and drug-related offenses. The three suspects now face charges related to the Taiwan Narcotics Hazard Prevention Act, obstruction of public duties, endangerment of public safety, and assault. The case has been referred to the New Taipei District Prosecutors Office for further investigation, and the police are continuing to investigate the source of the seized narcotics.
