Fatal Scheme Across the Sea: Taiwanese Woman Murdered, Husband's Remote Control Suspected

A tragic case of murder has gripped Taiwan, revealing a web of deceit and betrayal that stretches across the Taiwan Strait. In Taipei's Xinyi District, a 41-year-old woman, identified as Ms. Zhang, was discovered dead in her home on May 3, 2024. Her body was found with a plastic bag over her head, and with multiple stab wounds on her back, indicating she had been dead for over ten days.

Initial investigations by the police and prosecutors revealed that Ms. Zhang's husband, Mr. Chen, who had fled to mainland China due to alleged fraud activities, is the prime suspect. The authorities suspect that Mr. Chen, motivated by marital discord and other factors, remotely orchestrated the murder. It's believed he hired Mr. Tian to carry out the crime.

Mr. Tian, closely associated with Mr. Chen, was observed entering Ms. Zhang's residence. Following the crime, he reportedly changed his appearance and immediately flew to mainland China from Taoyuan Airport. The Taipei District Prosecutors Office has concluded its investigation and issued an arrest warrant for both Mr. Chen and Mr. Tian, charging them with murder.

The investigation also involved examining the activities of several individuals, including a Mr. Lin, who had previously been involved in related financial dealings with Ms. Zhang. However, after a year-long investigation, they were cleared due to insufficient evidence.
