Feud Escalates in Pingtung: Temple Festival Argument Leads to Vandalism

A dispute stemming from a temple festival in Pingtung, Taiwan, escalated into property damage and legal action as a group of individuals were apprehended by the Fangliao Police.

A heated argument at a temple festival in Pingtung County, Taiwan, has resulted in the arrest of several individuals following a violent act of retaliation. The incident, which began with a verbal dispute between Yang and Chen, quickly escalated, leading to property damage and a police investigation.

According to police reports, the initial confrontation took place during a temple festival. The disagreement between Yang and Chen remained unresolved, fueling further conflict. Subsequently, Yang, accompanied by Lu, went to Chen's orchard to address the matter. However, the situation intensified, leading to another argument involving Chen and four others.

Following the renewed disagreement, Chen and the others proceeded to Yang's residence, where they caused significant damage. Armed with baseball bats, they vandalized Yang's vehicles and property. The Fangliao Police Department responded swiftly, apprehending Chen and his associates and initiating legal proceedings.

The police investigation revealed that the individuals involved included Chen (22), Sun (18), a juvenile (17), Ye (30), and Xu (29). They are facing charges related to disrupting public order, causing bodily harm, and property damage. The case has been referred to the Pingtung District Prosecutors Office for further investigation.

The Fangliao Police Department emphasized that violence is never the answer and that it will only lead to more serious consequences. The authorities have vowed to take decisive action against any actions that disrupt public order or cause damage, and will ensure that legal measures are taken against those responsible.
