Former Transportation Minister of Taiwan, Guo Yao-chi, tragically passed away after battling an aortic dissection. She was rushed to Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital yesterday evening.

The medical team employed ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) to support her vital functions throughout the night. Despite their efforts, the rescue attempts proved unsuccessful. Hospital officials confirmed that life support was withdrawn before noon today.

Friends and associates have expressed their grief and condolences on social media. Many have vowed to continue fighting to clear her name. 戴章皇, a long-time friend, visited Guo Yao-chi in the hospital, encouraging her, "Your unjust case has not yet been overturned."

Aortic dissection is a severe cardiovascular condition with a high mortality rate. The severity of the condition required immediate treatment at Shin Kong Hospital, followed by surgery and observation in the surgical intensive care unit. The use of ECMO aimed to prolong her life during the crisis.
