Tragic Reunion: Former Athlete Kills High School Student in Taichung

A young woman's life tragically cut short in a shocking act of violence in Taiwan.

A horrific incident unfolded in the Nantun District of Taichung City this afternoon, leaving the community reeling. The suspect, identified as Zhan, reportedly sought to reconcile with his former girlfriend, a high school student named Zhan. Under the guise of returning a pet hamster, he lured her to meet him near a rental property on Zhongyong Road.

In a brazen act of violence, just 200 meters from the Chun She Police Station, Zhan allegedly attacked the young woman. He used a short knife to stab her in the chest and back, resulting in her death. The scene, marked by bloodstains on the sidewalk, prompted an immediate response from authorities, who are investigating the case as a homicide.

At approximately 2 p.m. today, the 4th Precinct of the Taichung Police Department responded to reports of a dispute in front of an apartment building on Zhongyong Road. Upon arrival, they found the 18-year-old Zhan critically injured with a chest wound. The 24-year-old Zhan, her former boyfriend, was also injured. Both were rushed to the hospital, but tragically, Zhan succumbed to her injuries.
