Kaohsiung Embraces French Flair: A Festival of Culture and Connection

Taipei, May 11 - The second annual Kaohsiung French Festival is set to enchant Taiwan from May 23 to 25, bringing a wave of French culture to the southern port city. This year's event promises an even more immersive experience, building on the success of the inaugural festival, which drew approximately 110,000 visitors over its three days.

The French Office in Taipei highlights the festival's significance as a symbol of strengthening cooperation between France and Kaohsiung. This year's festival, held at the Pier-2 Art Center, will offer a rich array of activities.

Attendees can look forward to outdoor concerts, a market featuring around 100 French and Taiwanese brands, drawing workshops, pétanque games, and virtual reality (VR) film screenings, among other exciting experiences.

A highlight of the festival will be the artwork of French illustrator Christopher Boyd, whose work celebrates the beauty of the French Riviera and the critical importance of maritime conservation. These visuals connect the festival with the 2025 United Nations Ocean Conference, which will be held in Nice, southern France.

The festival is organized by the French Office in Taipei, which represents Paris' interests in Taiwan, in collaboration with the Kaohsiung City Government and the Association of French Nationals in Taiwan.
