Taxi Inferno in Tainan: Hybrid Cab Engulfed in Flames, Sparking a Multi-Vehicle Blaze

A hybrid taxi in Tainan, Taiwan burst into flames early this morning, resulting in a fire that spread to multiple vehicles, fortunately without any reported injuries.

Tainan, Taiwan – An alarming incident unfolded in the early hours of the morning in Tainan's North District, as a hybrid taxi caught fire and quickly escalated into a multi-vehicle blaze.

The incident occurred on Gongyuan Road. The fire, which began in the moving oil-electric taxi, rapidly engulfed the vehicle, transforming it into a massive fireball. The intense heat and flames subsequently spread, damaging a white sedan and four motorcycles parked nearby.

Fortunately, emergency services were swift to respond. The Tainan Fire Department received the initial report at 00:12, arriving on the scene by 00:17. The fire was brought under control by 00:26, with four fire engines and eleven firefighters involved in the operation.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the authorities.
