New Developments Emerge in Controversial Hsinchu Baseball Stadium Case

Following months of relative silence, the investigation into the controversial Hsinchu Baseball Stadium in Taiwan has seen renewed activity. Authorities have requested the Hsinchu City Government to provide evidence related to the removal of overburden from the baseball field, specifically focusing on materials excavated during the process.

This comes after the Hsinchu City Government revealed in March that the removal of overburden in the outfield uncovered construction waste and discarded plastic bottles. The discovery included red bricks nearly 20 centimeters long just beneath the surface of the grass, which was only 10 to 15 centimeters deep. Moreover, concrete blocks measuring 90 centimeters and discarded steel reinforcing bars were also unearthed in the left outfield.
