Fu Kun-chi's Campaign Items Investigation: Housekeeper Missing, Lawyer Bails Out

The investigation surrounding Kuomintang (KMT) legislative caucus whip Fu Kun-chi and campaign-related items has taken a new turn. Prosecutors recently conducted searches, including at a staff dormitory near Fu Kun-chi's residence in Hualien, focusing on allegations potentially involving violations of the Anti-Infiltration Act and other charges. Fu Kun-chi has criticized the investigation, claiming it is politically motivated by President Lai Ching-te.

The Taipei District Prosecutors Office has been investigating the matter. They searched the residence of Li Ching-lung, Fu Kun-chi's housekeeper, finding that Li had entered the law firm of lawyer Chang Jui-wen in March of this year and subsequently became unreachable. Following the search, Chang Jui-wen was questioned and released on a 500,000 New Taiwan Dollar (NTD) bail on charges of harboring a fugitive. Li Ching-lung, after failing to appear for questioning, has now been issued a warrant for his arrest.
