Water Up, Flavors Up! A Night of Culinary Delights in Taiwan's ShuiShang Township

ShuiShang Township in Taiwan's Chiayi County recently hosted its inaugural township banquet, a "Retro Taiwan Flavors Party," transforming a quiet village into a bustling hub of food, fun, and community spirit.

The event, organized by the ShuiShang Township Office, local businesses, and the DaLun Xinxing Temple, saw approximately 500 attendees gather for an evening of traditional Taiwanese cuisine and entertainment. Renowned local chef "A Zhang Shi" crafted a ten-course menu featuring local agricultural products, blending classic Taiwanese dishes with a modern twist. The ambiance was further enhanced with traditional games and activities, drawing a crowd of all ages. The banquet, held at 40 tables, was sold out immediately!

Lin Xiangting, the ShuiShang Township Mayor, successfully promoted ShuiShang Township with the first township banquet. The dishes, each with playful names, such as "Treasure Island Feast" and "The Master's Secret Recipe," offered a taste of Taiwan's culinary heritage. Each table cost NT$3,600, reflecting the event's premium quality and popularity. This event underscores the vitality and cultural richness of Taiwan's smaller communities.
