In Kaohsiung, Taiwan, a hit-and-run incident occurred on Jian Gong Road, leading to a driver facing severe legal repercussions.

The incident unfolded when a vehicle driven by a man, identified as Su, was making a left turn onto Jian Gong Road. Simultaneously, a black car was making a right turn onto the same road. The two vehicles collided at the intersection.

Following the collision, the driver of the black car fled the scene. Law enforcement investigated the incident and later identified the driver as a 27-year-old woman, referred to as Wang.

Upon being contacted by the police, Wang admitted to having consumed alcohol. A breathalyzer test revealed a reading above the legal limit. She now faces a maximum fine of NT$120,000 and the suspension of her driver's license.

The accident took place at approximately 6:30 AM. Preliminary investigations indicate that Su, a 54-year-old man, was driving a recreational vehicle and turning left onto Jian Gong Road when the collision occurred with the black car, which was turning right.

After the accident, Wang fled the scene. Police reviewed security footage and identified Wang as the driver of the fleeing vehicle. She was subsequently contacted and brought to the police station for questioning.

Law enforcement officers detected the odor of alcohol on Wang. She admitted to drinking and driving. A breathalyzer test was administered on-site and showed a reading of 0.41 mg/L, which exceeded the legal limit.

Police preliminarily determined that Wang failed to yield while turning right. Furthermore, she violated Article 62, Paragraph 1 of the Road Traffic Management and Penalty Act. This may result in a fine ranging from NT$1,000 to NT$3,000, and the suspension of her driver's license for 1 to 3 months.

Concerning the DUI, Wang could be subject to a fine between NT$30,000 and NT$120,000, as per Article 35, Paragraph 1, Clause 1 of the Road Traffic Management and Penalty Act. Furthermore, the vehicle may be impounded, and her driver's license could be suspended for a period of 1 to 2 years. The specific causes of the accident are still being investigated by the Traffic Division.
