In Kaohsiung, Taiwan, a 55-year-old man, identified as Mr. Wu, was arrested on charges of drunk driving following a collision with a roadside barrier. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning on the 20th.

Mr. Wu was operating an unregistered motorcycle when he crashed into a barrier on Cuihua Road. Following the crash, Mr. Wu attempted to flee the scene, but witnesses intervened. One witness, Yumi, shared on social media that after witnessing the crash, she detected the smell of alcohol on Mr. Wu. She then took the initiative to prevent him from driving away by removing the motorcycle's keys.

Responding officers, after assessing Mr. Wu's condition and conducting a breathalyzer test, found his blood alcohol content to be above the legal limit of 0.25 mg/L. Consequently, he was arrested and charged with violating public safety laws. The motorcycle, owned by Mr. Wu's brother, had its license suspended in 2023. Mr. Wu was also cited for operating a vehicle with a suspended license.
