UNIQLO Controversy in Taiwan: Child's Actions Spark Outrage and Legal Consideration

A recent video circulating on social media has ignited a firestorm of controversy, prompting a response from UNIQLO regarding an incident at one of its stores in Taiwan. The video appears to show a young girl inside a display shelf, allegedly defecating. The person filming the video can be heard asking the child if she had "pooped." This has sparked widespread outrage and discussion online.

In response to the incident, UNIQLO issued a statement. The company stated that a thorough inspection of the store had been conducted, and no damage was found. However, to maintain a clean and sanitary environment, the store will undergo cleaning and disinfection. UNIQLO also acknowledged the anxiety and concern the post has caused and stated it "reserves the right to legal action."

The incident originated from a post by a user who issued an apology to UNIQLO and its customers. The poster explained that their child had a history of constipation and discovered that the "atmosphere and magnetic field of your store is exceptionally suitable for painless 排便 (defecation)." The post was accompanied by the video footage and includes humorous and sarcastic comments. The poster added "If your company has received complaints recently about a faint smell of princess poop on clothes, please contact me, we will be responsible for it," and "Thank you very much for providing such a perfect venue for the little anus that has been plagued for a long time, to be redeemed!"
