NONO Case: Taiwan Celebrity Faces Verdict on Sexual Assault Charges

The Shilin District Court in Taiwan is set to deliver its verdict on May 13th at 11:00 AM in the case against Taiwanese celebrity NONO (陳宣裕), who faces multiple charges of sexual assault and related offenses. The Shilin District Prosecutors Office has indicted NONO on seven counts, involving six victims.

The charges include three counts of forcible sexual intercourse, two counts of attempted forcible sexual intercourse, and two counts of indecent assault. Prosecutors have described NONO's behavior as reprehensible and are seeking a severe sentence from the court. The trial, which has lasted nearly a year, concluded with final arguments in February.

The prosecution alleges that NONO, who gained prominence as part of the "Xian Xian Family" led by entertainer Wu Zongxian, exploited his position. In 2008, he allegedly met a woman, identified as Ms. A, through a dating website. He offered to take her for a late-night snack after her shift, but instead, he took her to his residence under the pretense of avoiding paparazzi. There, he allegedly forced himself upon her, including kissing her, removing her stockings, and touching her inappropriately, despite her pleas to stop.
