Tragic Incident in Keelung: 5-Year-Old Boy Found Dead, Father Arrested

A 5-year-old boy in Keelung, Taiwan, was found with severe injuries and later died at the hospital. His father, Jian, was apprehended shortly after fleeing the scene.

A devastating incident unfolded in Keelung City, Taiwan, on the evening of April 14th, involving the death of a 5-year-old boy. Emergency services responded to a trauma call in the Ren'ai District around 9 PM. Upon arrival, they found the child unresponsive, suffering from significant injuries, including facial bruising and substantial bleeding. The boy was rushed to Chang Gung Hospital for immediate medical attention, but sadly, he was pronounced dead at 11 PM.

Following the incident, the boy's father, a 45-year-old man identified as Jian, disappeared from the scene. Police immediately launched a search and apprehended Jian within two hours of the event, in the Zhongzheng District of Keelung. Preliminary investigations indicate that Jian has confessed to the crime, although the precise details are still under investigation.

Initial police reports suggest that the incident occurred at Jian's residence. Disturbingly, it has been revealed that the boy and his mother had been subjected to Jian's violence for an extended period. The mother had applied for a protective order in mid-April, but the tragedy occurred before the order could be granted. Jian and his wife were reportedly separated, and the 5-year-old boy typically resided with his mother and grandmother, with occasional visits to Jian's residence.

On the evening of the incident, Jian was expected to return the boy to his mother. However, when the mother and grandmother did not see the boy, they went to Jian's home at around 9 PM and found the boy in the bedroom, covered in blood. Jian was nowhere to be found.

The mother, overcome with grief, immediately notified the authorities. Neighbors also contacted emergency services. After being taken to the hospital, the boy's condition was beyond help.

Police swiftly initiated a search for Jian, and located him in the Zhongzheng District of Keelung. Jian, who was riding a scooter, was taken into custody. He was reportedly calm upon being apprehended and has provided a preliminary confession. Authorities are now working to fully ascertain the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
