Unlicensed Driver in Taiwan Causes Car Accident, Locals Intervene

A serious car accident occurred in the Daliao District of Kaohsiung, Taiwan on the evening of December 12th. A 26-year-old Vietnamese national, Mr. Chen, was driving along Shangliao Road when he crashed his vehicle into a drainage ditch, resulting in injuries for himself and a 35-year-old Vietnamese passenger.

Witnesses reported that the two individuals initially did not want to report the accident. However, concerned bystanders, seeing the driver’s injuries, contacted the police. Law enforcement officers from the Linyuan Police Precinct arrived at the scene at 8:08 PM to manage the situation and direct traffic.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Mr. Chen, although not under the influence of alcohol, was driving without a license. He sustained injuries, but his condition was stable, and he was taken to the hospital. The passenger received minor injuries but did not require hospitalization.

The scene has been cleared, and the accident is under investigation, including detailed measurements and photographs to determine the cause. The police remind drivers to drive slowly and pay attention to road conditions, especially in dimly lit areas, to ensure road safety and a positive traffic environment.
