Kaohsiung, Taiwan - Just days after a 36-year-old man, Zheng, was charged with drunk driving and the death of a 19-year-old, another tragic incident has occurred in Kaohsiung. Early this morning, a Porsche driver, identified as a 59-year-old man named Hong, was arrested after a fatal collision.

The incident occurred at approximately midnight at the intersection of Dashun 1st Road and Longde Road. Investigations revealed that Hong, driving a Porsche, ran a red light while traveling east on Dashun 1st Road. He collided with a 67-year-old female motorcyclist, Cai Wu, who was traveling north. Sadly, Cai Wu was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash also caused damage to the light rail infrastructure. Preliminary tests revealed that Hong's breath alcohol concentration was 1.2mg/L. The police have arrested Hong on charges of endangering public safety and violating Article 184, Paragraph 3 of the Criminal Law, and Article 185-3 of the Criminal Code and will be transferred to the Kaohsiung District Prosecutors Office for investigation.

The Gushan Police Department has issued a public warning emphasizing the severe dangers of drunk driving and urging people not to take chances. They confirmed that they will continue to strengthen enforcement to ensure road safety for all users.
