According to reports from Italian media outlet Il Messaggero, and cited by the New York Post, a U.S. citizen residing in Taiwan was severely injured at the Colosseum in Rome. The incident occurred while the individual was reportedly attempting to climb a metal barrier while taking a selfie.

Emergency responders took approximately twenty minutes to rescue the man, who suffered a spinal injury from the piercing metal. Witnesses described the scene as harrowing, with the man reportedly hanging from the barrier "like a corpse" before losing consciousness. The incident sparked immediate calls for assistance from horrified onlookers.

The incident, which took place around 5 p.m. on the 2nd of the month, involved a 47-year-old American, who has been living in Taiwan. He was reportedly trying to get a better angle for a selfie when he attempted to climb the archway's outer barrier. The metal structure then pierced his spine, leading to a state of shock.
