TAIPEI, Taiwan – The Ministry of Defense's Bo'ai military compound in Taipei conducted a comprehensive base security drill on Saturday, simulating an unauthorized entry to test its security protocols.

Military police and soldiers demonstrated their rapid response capabilities, adhering to established emergency procedures, as reported by the Military News Agency.

Lieutenant General Sun Li-fang (孫立方), director of the ministry’s political affairs office, oversaw the exercise, which forms part of regular weekend training. He underscored the critical need for vigilance against potential threats and the value of realistic training scenarios, highlighting how technology enhances surveillance and monitoring capabilities.

These crucial drills are designed to enhance units' situational awareness, improve command coordination, and ensure personnel are proficient in emergency protocols, which are essential in the ongoing defense of Taiwan.

The battalion commander, surnamed Ting (丁), noted that the exercise effectively tested the troops’ ability to swiftly assess and respond to unforeseen circumstances. He emphasized that rigorous and consistent training is key to maintaining a robust defense against any attempts at infiltration or sabotage.
