Taoyuan International Airport: A World Leader in Baggage Delivery and Rising Star in Global Airport Rankings

Taiwan's Gateway Takes Top Honors for Efficient Baggage Handling and Climbs the Ranks of the World's Best Airports.

Taipei, April 10 - Taoyuan International Airport, Taiwan's primary international gateway, has achieved remarkable success, earning the top spot for "World's Best Airport for Baggage Delivery 2025" by the air transport rating organization, Skytrax. This prestigious award recognizes the airport's outstanding commitment to efficient baggage handling and enhanced passenger experience.

The "World Airport Awards" were announced on Wednesday, showcasing Taoyuan International Airport's dedication to operational excellence. The airport surpassed Kansai International Airport in Osaka, Japan (2nd) and Singapore's Changi Airport (3rd) to secure the coveted top position for baggage delivery.

Beyond its baggage handling prowess, Taoyuan International Airport has also significantly improved its overall ranking in the "World's Best Airports 2025" list, climbing 23 spots to 43rd place, a notable achievement from its previous 66th position last year. This improvement highlights the airport's comprehensive efforts to enhance passenger experience.

Furthermore, the airport demonstrated its excellence in various other categories. It secured the 6th position in the "World's Best Airports serving 40 to 50 million passengers" category, where Rome's Fiumicino Airport topped the list. Taoyuan also ranked 4th in "World's Best Airport Immigration Service 2025," 5th in "The World's Most Improved Airports 2025," 7th in "Best Airport Staff in Asia 2025," and 9th in both "World's Cleanest Airports 2025 - Major Airports" and "World's Best Airport Washrooms 2025."

Yang Wei-fuu (楊偉甫), Chairman of Taoyuan International Airport Corp. Ltd (TIAC), attributed the airport's success to the collective dedication of its 35,000 staff members. He stated that the collaborative efforts with airlines and ground handling companies, particularly since the COVID-19 pandemic, have been crucial to improving services. The airport's previous ranking of 8th last year underscores the substantial progress made.

Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted lauded Taoyuan International Airport for "demonstrating a strong commitment to operational efficiency and service quality," according to a TIAC statement. Plaisted further emphasized that the awards "highlight its (Taoyuan International Airport's) efforts and achievements in enhancing the overall passenger experience."

Looking ahead, TIAC announced that the north concourse of Terminal 3 is slated for completion in the second half of this year. This new facility will offer enhanced infrastructure and improved services for travelers and airlines, further solidifying the airport's commitment to excellence.

The Skytrax "World Airport Awards," established in 1999, serve as a crucial benchmark for the global airport industry, assessing customer service and facilities at over 500 airports worldwide.

Singapore's Changi Airport topped this year's list of the "World's Best Airports 2025," followed by Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar (2nd) and Haneda Airport in Tokyo, Japan (3rd).
