Taiwan's Search and Rescue Teams Stand Down as International Aid Deployed in Myanmar

In response to the magnitude 7.7 earthquake that struck **Myanmar** on the 28th, Taiwan's National Fire Agency (NFA) has announced that its search and rescue teams are standing down from their immediate readiness posture.

The NFA reported this evening that a significant international response is underway. As of 6 PM, a total of 13 international search and rescue teams are already deployed, with another 13 teams mobilized and ready to assist. This considerable international effort is considered sufficient to meet the immediate needs of the situation.

The deployed international teams include: the China International Search and Rescue Team (CHN-02), the China Gongyang (公羊) Team (NGO), the Shenzhen Rescue Volunteer Federation (SRVF-NGO), China Blue Sky (昆明市, 長沙市 and others), the Hong Kong Search and Rescue Team, the Indian National Disaster Response Force, and the Indian Medical Team, among others.

Taiwan's NFA will continue to monitor the situation closely, and stands ready to re-activate its search and rescue capabilities should the need arise.
