Mountain Rescue in Kaohsiung: Husband Feared Lost After Fall

A search and rescue operation is currently underway in the Meinong District of Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, following a hiking incident this afternoon. At approximately 1 PM, a couple was hiking near the Qingquan Buddha Hall when the husband reportedly lost his footing and fell down a slope. His wife immediately contacted authorities.

Local police were notified and are on the scene. Search teams have been assembled and deployed to locate the missing husband, who is now considered missing. The search is ongoing.

The incident occurred in the forested area near Qingquan Buddha Hall, close to the base of Mount Qiwei. Although Mount Qiwei is a popular hiking destination, the trail behind the Buddha Hall is less frequented. The husband's fall reportedly happened in a bamboo grove, a relatively remote area. The challenging terrain is complicating the search efforts. Rescue teams continue their thorough search.
