In a dramatic rescue operation, a 49-year-old man from Tainan, Taiwan, was found alive after being missing for two days in the mountainous region bordering Yujing and Nansi districts. The man, identified as Mr. Yeh, had reportedly gone to the area on May 21st with friends, with the intention of searching for fossils.

After losing contact with Mr. Yeh, his family reported him missing on May 23rd. According to reports, Mr. Yeh’s wife received a LINE message from her husband on May 21st at 5 PM, informing her he was going to "Da Pingtai" overnight with friends. As no further contact was made, and given Mr. Yeh’s known interest in collecting fossils, the family suspected he was in the Yujing area.

Tainan police and fire services launched an extensive search operation upon receiving the report. Utilizing a large contingent of personnel, along with police dogs and drones, the searchers combed the challenging terrain. The last known cellphone signal from Mr. Yeh was tracked to Xiangjiao Mountain in Nansi district on May 22nd.

The search team located Mr. Yeh on the riverbank at approximately 6:24 PM on May 23rd. He was found unconscious, exhibiting a high fever but still with vital signs. He was immediately transported to a local hospital for urgent medical attention.
