According to reports, the Kaohsiung Fire Department, already present on the river for the Dragon Boat Festival security detail, responded swiftly after receiving the alert. Firefighters deployed watercraft and pulled the man from the river. Upon rescue, the man was found to be without a pulse and not breathing. Emergency medical services immediately began resuscitation efforts and transported him to a local hospital.

The police department's Ziqiang Precinct received a call from a 24-year-old woman named Qiu, who witnessed the incident. Investigations are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the man's fall. Authorities have notified the man's family.
