Boosting Adoption Rates: New Taipei City's

Black dogs often face challenges finding homes compared to other coat colors. To address this, the New Taipei City Animal Protection Office launched the "Adoption Bonanza" program this year, aiming to increase adoption rates. Recently, a resident was captivated by "Shuai-Shuai," a mixed-breed black dog housed at the Xindian Animal Shelter, and decided to adopt him. Shuai-Shuai, after spending nearly seven years in the shelter, finally found his forever home.

The Animal Protection Office reports that since the program began on March 29th, 36 black dogs have been successfully adopted.

Shuai-Shuai arrived at the Xindian Animal Shelter in 2018. He is known for his calm and gentle personality, friendly with shelter volunteers. He also enjoys interacting with visitors during adoption events and loves to be petted. Despite his friendly nature, his larger build and black coat made finding a home difficult.
