In a somber incident, a 54-year-old female tourist lost her life while hiking on the Dushan Mountain trail in Zhuqi Township, Chiayi County, Taiwan on the 17th. The incident occurred near the Erhao Bridge, where the hiker fell from the trail, succumbing to her injuries.

Rescue personnel were immediately dispatched to the scene following the report. Upon arrival, they confirmed the hiker showed no vital signs. The team assisted in removing the body and transporting it to the Zhangnaoliao Forest Railway Station. The body was not transported to a hospital, and the matter was subsequently handed over to the family and the police for further proceedings.

According to initial investigations, the deceased was part of a group of five who were hiking on Dushan Mountain. The incident occurred around 6 p.m. near the Erhao Bridge, where the hiker sustained injuries leading to her fall.

Witness accounts suggest that the woman may have been struck by a stone before falling. The exact cause of the incident is currently under investigation.
