Tragic Traffic Fatality in Keelung, Taiwan: Pedestrian Struck and Killed

A fatal traffic accident occurred in the Anle District of Keelung City, Taiwan, on the morning of October 16th, involving a pedestrian, a motorcycle, and a car. The incident, which took place at the intersection of Bade Road and Majin Road, resulted in the death of a woman identified as Ms. Zhang.

According to initial reports, a 50-year-old motorcyclist, Mr. Huang, collided with Ms. Zhang, who was crossing the road. Both individuals fell to the ground as a result of the initial impact. Tragically, while Ms. Zhang was on the ground, she was then struck by a vehicle driven by a 58-year-old woman, Ms. Guo.

Emergency services responded to the scene and transported Ms. Zhang to the hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries. Both Mr. Huang and Ms. Guo were administered breathalyzer tests, and the results indicated no alcohol consumption. The police have initiated an investigation and the case will be handled following Taiwan's law related to accidental death.

The Keelung City Police Department has issued a reminder to the public to exercise heightened awareness at intersections, paying close attention to road conditions. Pedestrians are urged to use designated crosswalks and to adhere to traffic signals for their safety.
