Taiwan Soaked! Plum Rain Kicks Off with Significant Downpour

Taiwan is experiencing significant rainfall as a frontal system brings heavy downpours, particularly across northern and central regions. Former Director-General of the Central Weather Bureau, Zheng Ming-dian, took to Facebook to report the widespread impact, noting that "rain has covered half of Taiwan."

Zheng Ming-dian shared a rainfall accumulation map from the Central Weather Administration, highlighting the extent of the precipitation. Areas colored orange and above indicate accumulated rainfall exceeding 50 millimeters, covering a considerable area. He emphasized that the rain is still accumulating and that this marks the first significant rainfall event of the Plum Rain season.
