Indonesian Employers Association Explores Opportunities in Taiwan's Thriving Industries

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – A recent visit by an Indonesian delegation signals a strengthening of economic and trade ties between Taiwan and Indonesia, promising mutual benefits and regional advancement.

Led by Shinta Kamdani, chair of the Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO), a group of 20 representatives explored Taiwan from April 30 to May 3. The delegation engaged with key public and private sector organizations, including the International Trade Administration, Hsinchu Science Park Bureau, and the Institute for Information Industry. This exploration highlights the interest in understanding and potentially leveraging Taiwan’s advanced industrial capabilities.

The visit also featured a banquet hosted by Deputy Foreign Minister Remus Chen (陳立國), emphasizing the significance of this first-ever APINDO delegation to Taiwan. The event provided valuable insights into the nation’s industrial development, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).

The delegation comprised leaders from diverse industries, including textiles, asset management, and public relations, reflecting the broad scope of potential collaborations. APINDO, the largest private business association in Indonesia, is composed of company CEOs and significantly influences the country's economic and trade policies, as stated by MOFA.

The ministry highlighted that over 2,000 Taiwanese companies are currently investing in Indonesia, which generates substantial employment opportunities. MOFA reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening cooperation with Indonesia to promote regional prosperity and stability.
