Digital Buzz: Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che Tops Online Sentiment Charts with Innovative Anti-Fraud Measures

According to recent online sentiment analysis by Network Temperature Gauge (DailyView), Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che has secured the top position in online favorability among the top 10 city mayors. The data, reflecting public opinion trends, indicates that Mayor Huang significantly outpaces other city leaders in terms of positive sentiment.

The peak of the online buzz surrounding Mayor Huang occurred on April 15th, coinciding with the announcement of innovative anti-fraud measures. Tainan city, leading the nation, implemented a system within ATMs to identify individuals, encouraging them to remove their masks or helmets while withdrawing cash. This initiative aimed to prevent the misuse of ATMs by fraud perpetrators and garnered enthusiastic responses from online users.

In response to the initiative, the Tainan City Government noted that the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) had, earlier in the year, engaged with various banks to devise strategies to prevent fraud. Recognizing that victims of fraud often transfer funds, which are then withdrawn by "cash mules," the FSC suggested that citizens should reveal their faces when using ATMs for withdrawals and transfers.
