Taiwan: Graduation Cycling Trip Turns Tragic as Car Collides with Students
A joyous graduation cycling trip around Taiwan takes a devastating turn, leaving students injured after a collision in Changhua County.

A graduation cycling tour in Taiwan, undertaken by students from the Taipei-based Kang Chiao International School's junior high school, encountered a serious incident this morning in Changhua County. While traveling along Section 3 of Zhangshui Road in Pitou Township, a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction collided with the students' group, resulting in multiple injuries.
The cycling group, comprising graduating students, was embarking on a planned island-wide tour, traveling from south to north. They were en route to Taichung City, where they intended to spend the night. The accident occurred around 10:38 AM at He-xing Village, when a car driven by a man, approximately 40 years old, collided with the cyclists. The impact caused a chain reaction, with the cycling team falling in a domino effect. Preliminary reports indicate that eight students were injured. Emergency services from Pitou, Zhutang, and Erlin promptly responded to the scene to transport the injured to hospitals. The extent of the injuries is currently under investigation.
