A fire erupted this afternoon around 3:30 PM in a building located on Minsheng Road in Lukang Township, Changhua County, Taiwan. The blaze quickly intensified, sending thick plumes of smoke billowing over the nearby Lukang Old Street, a popular tourist destination. Panic ensued as tourists were quickly evacuated from the area.

The Changhua County Fire Department responded promptly, arriving on the scene to battle the flames. The fire was brought under control and extinguished within approximately half an hour. One individual within the building sustained minor burns and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Initial reports suggest the fire originated in a newly opened bakery on the first floor of the building. Emergency services received the initial call at 3:25 PM, reporting a possible gas explosion. The investigation into the incident continues.
