Taiwan Gym Trainer Flees After Child Abuse Allegations: Fugitive on the Run

In a shocking turn of events in Taiwan, YEH Zhan-Hao, a fitness trainer from the Hsinchu County city of Zhubei, is now a fugitive. He faces charges related to the alleged abuse of children, prompting a warrant for his arrest. The case has sent ripples of concern through the local community.

The incident involves YEH Zhan-Hao and another fitness trainer, YEH Bo-Er. Both were implicated in the alleged abuse, with YEH Zhan-Hao's bail set at NT$3 million and YEH Bo-Er's at NT$1 million. Both were subject to restrictions on their residency as part of their bail conditions. However, during a court hearing in March, YEH Zhan-Hao failed to appear and it was discovered that he had already left the country, prompting immediate action from the courts.

The court has now declared his bail forfeited and issued a warrant for his arrest, further requesting that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs revoke his passport. YEH Bo-Er, on the other hand, remains within Taiwan and continues to report to the police as required.

Investigations revealed that YEH Zhan-Hao and YEH Bo-Er, along with a trainer surnamed CHUNG, allegedly used the guise of discipline to subject the children of a female colleague, who were under six years old, to repeated physical and mental abuse. This included forced standing and violent beatings. The trainers allegedly inflicted punishments such as demanding the children perform a plank pose with their toes against the floor, and other forms of cruel and unusual punishment. Disturbingly, they are alleged to have filmed the abuse and shared the videos.
