Taiwan's KMT Mobilizes in Support: Mayor Chiang Wan-an to Attend, Police Prepare

The Kuomintang (KMT) finds itself in a period of heightened activity as it responds to developments in an ongoing case. The Taipei City Party Department Chairman, Huang Lu Chin-ju, is under investigation by the Taipei Investigation Office of the Investigation Bureau regarding allegations of document forgery linked to the KMT's "death petition" case. This has spurred the KMT to take action.

KMT Chairman Eric Chu issued a mobilization order, calling on party officials to gather at the Taipei District Prosecutors' Office this evening. Notably, Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an has also indicated his intention to be present. In response to these planned gatherings, the Zhongzheng First Precinct of the Taipei City Police Department has issued a press release. The police statement clarifies that, according to Article 6 of the Assembly and Parade Law, the district prosecutors' office is a restricted zone where gatherings and parades are prohibited.

The Zhongzheng First Precinct further stated that while they respect citizens' right to express their opinions, gatherings are not permitted in restricted zones. They urged any groups or individuals expressing their views to adhere to the law, express their demands rationally and peacefully, and avoid actions that would disrupt social order.
