The recent investigation by the Taipei and New Taipei District Prosecutors' Offices into the forgery of a recall petition has brought to light a controversial incident. The leader of the petition to recall Li Kun-cheng, Song Jianliang, was seen wearing an armband with the swastika symbol, holding a copy of Hitler's work, and performing the Nazi salute during a hearing. This action has sparked considerable public discussion in Taiwan.

Adding further complexity to the situation, online users have unearthed Song's past, including his time at Jian-Guo High School. A video has resurfaced showing Song's interaction with former President Ma Ying-jeou. During Ma's 2016 speech at Jian-Guo High School, titled "Transformation and Metamorphosis - From Jian-Guo Middle School to the Republic of China," Song approached Ma during the Q&A session.

Song claimed to have met Ma when the latter was the Mayor of Taipei. He then recounted a story about Ma allegedly picking him up when he was a child. He proceeded to embrace Ma, causing the security detail to react.
