"Little Tianmu" Trail in Kaohsiung Damaged After Typhoon, Repair Delayed

Kaohsiung's "Little Tianmu" residents await repair of damaged trail following Typhoon Santo, highlighting delays and impact on community life.

A popular trail in Kaohsiung, dubbed "Little Tianmu" due to its vibrant community and international residents, has been left in disrepair following damage from Typhoon Santo in October of last year. The trail, located in Sanmin District's Hedong Park, suffered significant damage, with potholes, broken surfaces, and uneven terrain resembling waves, creating hazardous conditions for residents.

The damage has yet to be repaired, much to the frustration of local residents. The repair work is tied to a broader project to improve the riverbank's waterside walkways, but this project has been delayed due to failed bidding processes. Residents have expressed their desire for the repairs to be completed swiftly. The **Water Resources Bureau** has indicated that the bidding process is currently underway and that work is expected to commence before the end of May.

Hedong Park, situated along the west bank of the Hedong Road, is a green belt stretching from Mingcheng Road to Tianxiang Road. Covering an area of approximately 0.5517 hectares, it borders the upper reaches of the Love River. The surrounding area is known for its rich amenities, including a variety of international restaurants and a significant number of foreign residents, earning it the affectionate nickname "Little Tianmu."
