On the first day of the Qingming Festival and Children's Day holiday in Taiwan, a tragic incident occurred at Taichung's Taiyuan Station. At approximately 10:00 AM, a man fell onto the tracks. The 162nd Puyama Express train, unable to stop in time, struck the individual.

The impact of the collision resulted in a scattering of the remains across the tracks, horrifying numerous passengers waiting to board trains. Railway police confirmed the identity of the deceased. After evidence gathering concluded, train services resumed at 11:05 AM.

According to the Railway Police Taichung Division, the Taichung Police Station received a report from the fire department regarding the accident involving the 162nd Puyama Tze-Chiang Express train, which occurred at Taiyuan Station at 10:09 AM.
