DaChan's Culinary Conquest: Taiwanese Flavors Set to Invade the U.S. Food Market
Taiwanese Food Giant DaChan Plans Expansion, Bringing Beef Noodles and More to American Tables.

Taipei, April 11 – Taiwanese food powerhouse DaChan Great Wall Group is setting its sights on significant growth within the U.S. processed food market. At a recent investor conference, the company announced plans to introduce beloved Taiwanese dishes, including the iconic beef noodles, to American consumers.
Following last year's acquisition of a controlling interest in Amy Food Inc., a U.S.-based processed food manufacturer, DaChan is preparing to construct two new processing plants within the United States. According to Chairman Han Chia-yu (韓家宇), construction is slated to commence later this year.
These new facilities are designed to dramatically increase production capacity. DaChan intends to scale up existing product lines, such as spring rolls and dumplings, while simultaneously introducing traditional Taiwanese favorites like beef noodle soup. Han stated that this strategic move is part of a broader effort to solidify DaChan's presence in the American market.
President Han Fang-hao (韓芳豪) emphasized that the acquisition of Amy Food was a calculated decision to expand DaChan's reach within the U.S. market. Amy Food already boasts robust distribution networks, supplying products to high schools, universities, and major supermarkets across the country.
Han Fang-hao (韓芳豪) expressed DaChan's commitment to leveraging its management expertise to further develop these existing distribution channels. Regarding the impact of U.S. tariff policies, Chairman Han Chia-yu (韓家宇) acknowledged that the company's Indonesian facility, which handles seafood processing and generates roughly 15% of its revenue from U.S. exports, might experience some effects.
However, DaChan's operations in China primarily serve the local market, with minimal exports to Japan and none to the U.S. This suggests that the overall impact of tariffs will be relatively contained. Looking forward, DaChan is progressing with several key investments. In Taiwan, new facilities for aquaculture feed, native chicken processing, white meat chicken portioning, and biotech manufacturing are anticipated to become operational this year, with revenue contributions expected in the second half.
Furthermore, the company's pig farm operations in Vietnam and seafood processing plant in Indonesia are scheduled for completion in 2025, which will provide additional operational momentum. In 2024, DaChan reported a consolidated revenue of NT$102.75 billion (US$3.16 billion), reflecting a year-on-year decrease of 7.52 percent.
