A Bold Proposal Sets the Stage for Heated Debates in Taiwan's Legislative Yuan.
Taiwan Political Showdown: Green Party Moves to Discipline 62 Legislators

The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) caucus in Taiwan's Legislative Yuan made a dramatic move today, proposing that all 62 legislators from the Kuomintang (KMT, Blue) and Taiwan People's Party (TPP, White) be sent to the Disciplinary Committee. The motion includes Legislative Speaker Han Kuo-yu.

The DPP's reasoning centers on the legality of a recent session. They argue that the meeting, which dealt with proposed referendums related to "anti-abolition of the death penalty" and "anti-martial law", was held outside of the designated meeting hours and therefore invalid. This has led the DPP caucus to repeatedly obstruct the proceedings of the Legislative Yuan.
