Tainan's First Quarter Tech Enforcement Hotspots Revealed

The Tainan City Police Department has released its first-quarter (January-March) data on the top ten locations for traffic enforcement using technological means. The results reveal the areas where drivers in Tainan are most likely to face a speeding ticket.

Topping the list, with a staggering 3,191 violations, is the intersection of Zhongshan Road and Zhongzheng Road, Section 3, in the Rende District. The Yongkang District also features prominently, with four intersections making it into the top ten.

In terms of fixed speed camera locations, the "pole king" for the first quarter is located on Anji Road, Section 3, near Anshun Zhuang Avenue, in the Annan District. Furthermore, the second and fourth highest ticket-generating poles are also situated in the Annan District.

With 68 tech enforcement locations currently active, Tainan issued nearly 74,000 tickets in the first quarter of 2024, resulting in over NT$110 million in fines. The top five intersections for violations in the previous year (2023) were: Zhonghua North Road and Guanhai Bridge intersection (North District), Zhongshan Road and Zhongzheng Road, Section 3 intersection (Rende District), Zhonghua Road and Zhonghua West Street intersection (Yongkang District), the U-shaped passenger drop-off area at the Tainan High Speed Rail Station (Guiren District), and Zhonghua Road and Daqiao 3rd Street intersection (Yongkang District).
