Amidst the ongoing trade landscape, nations are actively engaging with the White House, seeking avenues for negotiation and agreement. According to Bloomberg, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent disclosed on the 8th that the White House maintains a "contact list," prioritizing discussions with various countries. This list, Bessent indicates, focuses on nations with substantial trade deficits with the United States, which are likely to be among the first to be invited to the negotiation table.

Furthermore, it's reported that the current administration is keen on Taiwan participating in the Alaskan natural gas pipeline project.

Speaking with CNBC on the 8th, Scott Bessent shared: "I've seen the White House's call list, and it's a lengthy one. We were discussing last night which countries should be prioritized. I think some of the larger countries with significant, long-standing trade deficits with the US will soon be initiating negotiations."
