Taiwan's Rescue Team Stands Ready: Addressing the Myanmar Earthquake Response

The Taiwan National Fire Agency (TNFA) has addressed recent inquiries regarding the absence of a Taiwanese rescue team at the site of the recent earthquake in Myanmar. The TNFA clarified that the decision not to deploy a rescue team was not due to any internal constraints on Taiwan's part, but rather due to a lack of response from the Myanmar government to Taiwan's offer of assistance.

In an official press release issued tonight, the TNFA stated that Taiwan immediately expressed its concern and offered aid after the 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar on March 28th, resulting in significant casualties and property damage. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through its representative office in Myanmar, conveyed Taiwan's willingness to dispatch a rescue team to provide support.
