High-Speed Chase in Tainan: Driver Arrested After Drug Discovery and Reckless Driving

A dramatic police chase unfolded in Tainan, Taiwan, on the evening of December 24th, following a routine traffic stop that quickly escalated. The incident began when officers from the Nanmen Police Station responded to a report of a white Range Rover Evoque illegally parked on Nanmen Road.

Upon investigation, the officers discovered that the vehicle's registration had been revoked and the driver was operating the vehicle without a license. Furthermore, officers spotted a substance suspected to be ketamine within the car.

The driver, realizing the severity of the situation, attempted to flee the scene, initiating a high-speed pursuit. During the chase, the driver engaged in reckless driving, including weaving through traffic, running red lights, and driving against the flow of traffic, endangering both himself and other motorists. Police units followed, maintaining a safe distance while coordinating their efforts to stop the vehicle.

The chase eventually ended on Ximen Road, when traffic congestion forced the suspect to stop. Police officers then approached the vehicle, drawing their weapons and ordering the driver to exit the car. The driver was apprehended and taken into custody. The individual faces charges of public endangerment and drug-related offenses.
