Taiwan Braces for Significant Temperature Drop and Rainfall as Northeast Monsoon Intensifies

Taiwan is set to experience a noticeable shift in weather as the northeast monsoon strengthens, bringing cooler temperatures and increased moisture. The northern part of the island, including Taipei, is forecast to see a temperature drop of up to 8 degrees Celsius, with evenings becoming progressively colder.

According to forecasters from the Central Weather Administration, the enhanced northeast monsoon, combined with moisture moving from southern China, is likely to bring localized heavy rainfall to areas such as Keelung, the northern coast, greater Taipei, and Yilan. Residents in these regions are advised to prepare for potentially significant downpours.

The coldest period is anticipated from tonight through the early morning of Thursday. Low temperatures are expected to range between 14 to 16 degrees Celsius across the western half of the island and the northeastern parts of Taiwan.
