The Central Weather Administration reported two consecutive earthquakes striking Zhunan Township in Miaoli County late on the 17th. The first, with a magnitude of 3.8, occurred at 11:53 PM, followed by a 3.7 magnitude tremor just five minutes later. Residents in Zhunan and Toufen experienced significant shaking, with many noting a pattern of ground rumbling preceding the sudden movement, a phenomenon they've observed for the third consecutive day around the same time. Currently, there are no reports of any damage resulting from these seismic events.

According to the Central Weather Administration's earthquake report, the first earthquake registered at 11:53:37 PM with a magnitude of 3.8, originating at a depth of 7.2 kilometers. The second earthquake, with a magnitude of 3.7, occurred at 11:58:25 PM at a depth of 8.3 kilometers. Zhunan Township experienced seismic intensity levels of 3 and 4, while Miaoli City registered a level 2 intensity.
